Frequently Asked Questions:
What kind of a church are we?
Avon United Methodist Church is a nonjudgmental church that respects difference. We accept and encourage lively discussions regarding faith, current events and support each other as a multifaceted community of faith. Each of us have experienced struggles in our lives, and we respect and support each other through the difficult times and celebrate with each other in times of joy. Whether you are new to the faith, searching for answers, a life-long Christian, or somewhere in between, we welcome you to join us as we grow in faith and make a difference in the world.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
Please wear whatever makes you feel most comfortable. Many people who attend wear slacks and a dressy shirt. Others wear more casual clothing. We value your presence, not your clothing style!
WILL I HAVE TO INTRODUCE MYSELF?
You don't have to but we're a welcoming congregation. Though we do receive an offering, we don’t want anyone to feel obligated to give. We do like to collect some basic information from everyone on our pads of paper in each pew, but if you’d prefer not to, that’s all right with us.
IS NURSERY CARE AVAILABLE?
Yes! We have trained nursery staff who love children and will warmly welcome your child during the 10:00 service. Parents are always welcome to attend and observe any of our children’s ministries.
Are there stairs I have to climb?
Entering the church there is a ramp leading from the parking area to the front door of the building. Once inside the church there is an elevator that will take you up one floor to the where the church service is held.
DO YOU PROVIDE HEARING DEVICES?
Headphones are available as you enter the sanctuary. An usher will be happy to provide you with the device and answer any questions you may have.
